NC Modular Homes
Unlike manufactured and mobile homes, NC modular homes are built to meet or exceed the same strict local and state building codes of site built homes. Modular homes are built in sections at our climate controlled plants, protecting your home from weather, theft, and vandalism. Constructing a large percentage of the home in one location allows us to purchase quality materials in bulk and pass the savings on to you. Because the majority of your home is built in our plant, with all materials on hand, work is completed with little or no effect by weather or supply shortages. This fact alone speeds up the building process and saves you money.
The way modular homes are uniquely constructed allows for a myriad of design possibilities, including a variety of sizes, shapes, and multiple stories. Unlike mobile and manufactured homes, modular homes look like site built homes. For this reason, and the superior construction of modular homes, there are fewer restrictions on where they can be placed. In addition, there are hundreds of programs available for financing; with terms and rates the same as those for site built homes.
Choosing a modular home can usually reduce the construction time by months in comparison to site built homes. Because Homes by Vanderbuilt homes are constructed in a climate controlled environment, time is not lost due to inclement weather conditions. The modular building process generally takes between 3 and 6 months.
Because Modular homes must be transported and then lifted into place by crane, they are built with an average of 20% more lumber than site built homes. The average site built home has 2” x 4” exterior walls and R-13 insulation. Homes by Vanderbuilt are constructed with 2” x 6” exterior walls and with R-19 insulation. In addition, we install R-30 insulation in the ceiling. These two factors along with low-e grade tilt windows make Homes by Vanderbuilt energy efficient. This keeps you more comfortable in your new home and saves you money on both heating and cooling costs.
