From start to finish and then some, Vanderbuilt personnel and our Sales Rep, Charles, were always helpful, and there when we needed them, or had questions or concerns. We were their first house on pilings and I was nervous about it. They worked well with us and all went great! Only problems we had were with the actual builders of the home, with regard to some flaws in the development of the home itself. Vanderbuilt took care of them. We were missing a wall. Yup, 2 pocket doors and wall. But, the wall was put up and one pocket door installed very quickly, along with a refund for the other missing door. We were satisfied. Their facilities men are terrific and always there to fix anything that isn\'t quite right! Great deal and good quality for the price. We are happy with our new home.

The module to module construction offers an inherent strength advantage over traditional framing. Keep in mind that the modules must be stong and rigid enough to withstand being put in place by a crane. We build with 2x6 lumber for exterior walls rather than the 2x4 lumber used by most traditional builders.

Modular homes typically use about 20% more lumber and fasteners than site-built homes and fare better than site-built homes in Hurricanes according to FEMA.
